Sachanna E. Williams

Sachanna Williams is a strategic thinker who finds practical solutions that best serve the interests of her clients. Her practice at Hogan Lovells concentrates on consumer finance-related matters throughout all stages of litigation and settlement before the state and federal courts of New York.

As a trained litigator with both trial court and appellate experience, Sachanna combines her ability to find creative winning legal arguments with her strong oral advocacy skills to help her clients achieve business success.

Sachanna persuasively argues complex dispositive motions, including those related to the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Dodd-Frank Act, and other state and federal laws. She has successfully argued before the Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department for the Supreme Court of New York.

She also takes and defends depositions, and uses her problem-solving skills to resolve cases during mediation or through independent settlement negotiations when possible.

Sachanna began her legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable Arlander Keys in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She then served as a complex commercial litigation associate at a prominent New York City-based international law firm.

In law school, Sachanna served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Arthur D. Spatt in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and as a legal extern for the NASD (now FINRA).
