As the co-head of the firm's Energy Disputes practice, Robert focuses his practice on dispute avoidance and the resolution of complex international disputes relating to the engineering and construction of vessels and other infrastructure for oil and gas production and processing, energy and chemical supply contracts, and solar panels and related raw materials. In addition, he handles matters related to the engineering and construction of pipelines, fractionation facilities and power plants, the interstate transportation of natural gas and electricity transmission, development of natural gas storage facilities, and natural gas trading.

Robert also represents companies in complex business disputes, including false advertising and unfair competition claims, antitrust and consumer protection claims, patent, trademark, and copyright claims, and other statutory issues. He regularly represents companies in consumer class actions, and has argued before the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation. Robert has extensive knowledge of, and experience with, today's most important discovery issues and practices.

Represented owner of floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) units in two ICC arbitrations involving disputes over engineering, procurement, and construction of FPSOs in Brazil.

Represented contractor in ICC arbitration relating to construction of gas-fired power plant in Chile.

Represented a Canadian solar panel manufacturer in CPR arbitration in dispute with customer over manufacturing and installation issues.

Defended LG Electronics and Best Buy in consumer class action alleging deceptive claims regarding television refresh rates.

Represented owner of nuclear power plant in dispute with EPC contractor relating to delays and cost overruns in decommissioning.

Represented contractor in pre-dispute resolution of issues relating to construction of largest FPSO to be used off the coast of Nigeria.

Represented two clients in many putative consumer class actions in California, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Ohio, and Wisconsin alleging price manipulation.
