Robert Wolinsky masters the facts and technical details of every case so that he can present clear and convincing arguments to arbitrators, judges, and juries in the U.S. and internationally.

Robert represents companies in disputes involving a wide-range of legal issues, including complex business disputes; engineering and construction disputes; false advertising and unfair competition claims; antitrust and consumer protection claims; patent, trademark, and copyright claims; and other statutory issues. His experience covers a wide range of industries with a focus on domestic and international clients in the consumer products and energy and natural resources industries.

Robert regularly represents companies in consumer class actions and in disputes with competitors and suppliers. He has experience litigating in multi-defendant, coordinated proceedings and has been appointed liaison counsel for defendants by the court. He also has argued before the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation and removed cases pursuant to the Class Action Fairness Act. Robert has extensive knowledge of, and experience with today's most important discovery issues and practices. He previously served as counsel in a case that resulted in leading opinions on privilege waiver (250 F.R.D. 251) and preservation of evidence (2010 WL 3703696) in favor of his client.

Robert is the co-head of the firm’s Energy Disputes practice. In the United States, he has handled matters relating to interstate natural gas transportation, the construction of pipelines and fractionation facilities, development of natural gas storage facilities and natural gas trading. Internationally, he has handled disputes relating to long-term LPG contracts, oilfield development, and natural gas-fired power plants. Robert has extensive knowledge of the federal regulatory scheme, which he applies in many of his civil litigation matters throughout the United States.

Obtained dismissal of false advertising claims by putative class of consumers against owner of Trident Xtra Care Gum relating to claim that gum “Strengthens and Rebuilds Teeth.”

Defended makers of Smart Balance products against multiple putative class actions alleging false advertising related claims relating to Buttery Spread and Fat Free Milk products.

Represented two clients in many putative consumer class actions in California, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Ohio, and Wisconsin alleging price manipulation.

Defended energy company in putative consumer class action relating to release of incorrect information that allegedly impacted market prices.

Represented the IBWA in bringing false advertising and unfair competition claims against canteens and water filter merchants resulting in issuance of permanent injunctive relief.

Represented owner of floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) units in two ICC arbitrations involving disputes over engineering, procurement, and construction of FPSOs.

Representing contractor in ICC arbitration relating to construction of gas fired power plant in Chile.

Represented contractor in AAA arbitration arising from the construction of a coal-fired power generation facility in Maidsville, West Virginia.

Represented owner of nuclear power plant in dispute with EPC contractor relating to delays and cost overruns in decommissioning.

Represented operator of natural gas fractionation plant in connection with disputes relating to explosion occurring shortly after plant start-up.

Representing owner of second generation cellulosic bioethanol plant and technology in dispute with equipment supplier.

Representing owner of natural gas pipeline in dispute with end users over the terms of long-term contracts for transportation.
