Randy's core focus is in mining, energy and natural resources and general corporate matters. He has acted in a number of significant transactions for major international and Indonesian clients. 

Randy provides advice on a wide range of energy matters including; structuring mining investments, advising on the acquisition of coal, mineral, power, oil and gas companies, mining services companies and contractors. Advising on the acquisition and divestment of a participating interest in a production sharing contract, advising on coal and mineral sale arrangements.  He has also provided advice in the past on the tender process for the construction and development of geothermal and hydro power plants.

Additionally, Randy has participated in negotiations with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in relation to the amendment of  the Coal Contract of Work (CCOW) and Contract of Work (COW). Aside from energy related matters, Randy has also advised clients on shares and asset acquisitions of toll roads, pharmaceuticals and plantation companies in Indonesia.

Representative experience

Advising Maybank on a US$ 30m project to finance the establishment of a coal port in the Banten Province, Indonesia.

Advising a consortium of Australian and Indian companies in the divestment of Indonesian geothermal power plant assets.

Advising a consortium of international lenders on the US$2.8bn Donggi Senoro LNG project financing in Indonesia.

Advising a Korean state owned enterprise in its acquisition of a nickel mining company and the development of a nickel smelter plant in South Hamahera.
