As an associate in the Litigation and Arbitration group in Mexico City, Alberto Quintana is adept at commercial, civil, and administrative litigation, as well as international arbitration. He has broad experience representing companies before the state and federal courts in Mexico.

Career highlights include his participation in commercial claims related to the restructuring of one of the largest home construction companies in Mexico. He also participated in the commercial claim related to conflict between partners in the largest oil extraction company in Mexico.

Before joining Hogan Lovells, Alberto worked with two well-known litigation firms in Mexico.

Representative Experience

Participated in an ICC arbitration related to a purchase of an insurance company.

Participated in several civil, commercial, and administrative claims related to the activities of one of the Mexican largest railroad companies.

Participated in the bankruptcy proceedings of two of Mexico’s largest publishers, representing the bankrupt company and a creditor, respectively.

Participated in the representation of several American bondholders.

Participated in the representation of the largest Mexican steel company in a litigation against PEMEX regarding a breach of contract.

Participated in the requests for permission to use water for hydropower generation, in representation of a renewable energy company.
