Virtual Asset Snapshot – Hong Kong

Regulations in respect of virtual assets in Hong Kong has become stricter in recent years. There are currently no dedicated digital or virtual asset regulator in Hong Kong. The Securities and Futures Commission regulates virtual assets under the Securities and Futures Ordinance, while the Hong Kong Monetary Authority adopts a risk-based approach to supervising bank virtual asset activities.
