U.S. FERC takes measures on regulatory compliance in response to COVID-19 emergency
On April 2, 2020, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued a policy statement and a series of orders intended to provide relief to regulated entities from certain specified regulatory obligations and to prioritize the reliability of the nation's energy infrastructure during the national emergency caused by the COVID-19 outbreak. Chairman Neil Chatterjee emphasized the importance of eliminating regulatory burdens to ensure the "reliability and security" of the country's energy infrastructure.
