UK Financial Services Law

September 2011

The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank), signed into law on 21 July 2010, contains provisions designed to encourage whistleblowers to report violations of U.S. federal securities laws. Whistleblowers can obtain promised monetary awards and are protected from retaliation for providing information that leads to a recovery of more than $1 million in an enforcement action by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
