UAE watchdog raises the alarm bell on ICOs

The Securities and Commodities Authority has joined an increasing list of regulators cautioning investors about the risks of initial coin offerings (ICOs).

The United Arab Emirates financial regulator issued a circular, urging investors to be "fully aware of the risks associated with ICO investments".

The circular lists the type of risks investors should be aware of, such as fraud, price volatility or the ICO information being unaudited or incomplete, which may present the investment in a misleading manner.
