The Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Care Act (ACA) today in a series of opinions in which Chief Justice Roberts stood out as the deciding vote. The opinions mark a strong victory for health reform, but they leave open important questions about the ACA’s Medicaid expansion and the federal government’s power to formulate cooperative federal-state policy.
