SEVP Releases Draft Policy Guidance on Conditional Admission for International Students

On 11 July 2014, the Student and Exchange Visitor Program, a division of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, posted a second round of draft policy guidance on conditional admission. The draft policy guidance clarifies that schools may issue a Form I-20 "Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status" to a prospective F-1 or M-1 student only if the student's qualifications meet all standards for admission, including English language proficiency requirements.
