Our International Trade team comments on the Department of Energy’s proposed rulemaking imposing civil penalties for violations of the Part 810 regulations
The Department of Energy has proposed changes to the regulations that control the export of certain unclassified nuclear technology and assistance. The Part 810 regulations would, for the first time, include civil monetary penalties. Companies should be prepared for increased enforcement activity including the imposition of civil penalties for civil violations.
