This litigation alert discusses the results of the groundbreaking Seventh Circuit's Electronic Discovery Pilot Program released on 3 May 2010. The study formulated and tested (in actual cases) a new set of guiding principles for e-discovery in civil litigation. As these results will likely guide the federal courts' development of e-discovery procedures, we provide suggestions for developing e-discovery strategies based upon the study’s focus and findings.
