New CDA Cases Continue to Promote Internet Growth

One of the most talked about statutes in the area of Internet law is Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (CDA), the federal statute that shields Web sites from lawsuits arising out of third-party content and communications online. Despite the publicity of two recent highly anticipated decisions, it is unlikely either case will significantly alter the young, but well settled, CDA precedent that already exists.
