Japan at a Trade Crossroads

After nearly two decades of economic stagnation, Japan is considering joining the Trans-Pacific Partnership as a way to pull itself out of the rut. This is encouraging, but it will not be an easy or pain-free decision. TPP requires that Japan's leadership and its people decide what kind of economy and society they want to leave for future generations.
