At around 3:30 in the afternoon, on a cold day last December, just before the end of the work day at a power station in Western Ukraine, a worker noticed his mouse cursor moving unprompted across his computer screen. The ghost mouse began navigating purposely and methodically to take offline a number of circuit breakers at a regional substation. Hundreds of thousands of residents lost their lights and heat. And the world just saw the beginning of its first confirmed cyber attack to bring down a power grid.
