FERC issues plan to review and streamline rules; provides opportunity for industry input

On 8 November 2011, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) released its executive summary plan to comply with Executive Order 13579 that requests independent regulatory agencies to periodically review significant regulations that may be outmoded, ineffective, insufficient, or excessively burdensome and to modify, streamline, expand, or repeal them to better meet the agency's objectives. FERC already reviews rules informally, but is adding a new process to review rules not covered by the executive order every 10 years.
