EU expanded sanctions against Syria and partially suspended the EU-Syria Cooperation Agreement

The EU has expanded the Syrian sanctions regime by prohibiting the importation, purchase or transport of crude oil and petroleum products originating in Syria, or exported from (or in the case of purchase, located in) Syria. The related provision of financing or financial assistance, including financial derivatives, insurance and reinsurance is also prohibited.
