Changes to the Singapore Companies Act (Cap.50)

17 JUNE 2015

Hogan Lovells Lee & Lee

The Singapore Companies Act (Chapter 50) (the "CA") is the primary legislation regulating corporate entities in Singapore. Sweeping changes to the CA were passed in Parliament in October last year.

In total, over 200 changes will be made, the largest number of reforms since the Act was enacted in 1967. The aim of the amendments is to liberalise the regulatory regime and introduce greater business flexibility and improve the corporate governance landscape in Singapore.
