California’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) is extending the public comment period for its proposal that lays out what constitutes a Proposition 65 exposure that would require warnings for listed chemicals that are formed in food by cooking or heat processing (e.g., acrylamide).  The comment period will now close on October 21, 2020.

OEHHA is also extending the public comment period for its draft report "Health Effects Assessment: Potential Neurobehavioral Effects of Synthetic Food Dyes in Children."  OEHHA issued the report at the request of the California Legislature that has been considering legislation that could include warning labels and a stepwise ban for the use of synthetic food dyes in the state of California.  The comment period will now close on November 12, 2020.
