Who would have thought that a large Japanese city would change the entire German energy environment? The German federal government responded almost immediately to the tragic nuclear disaster in Fukushima, Japan, in March 2011, by making profound changes to energy policy and accelerating the dynamism of Germany’s energy transformation, the Energiewende. This brochure is intended to provide an overview of the regulatory framework and typical risks of dismantling projects, while at the same time pointing out options for structuring and limiting risk.
