Nirupa Persaud focuses her practice on executive compensation and ERISA matters, largely in connection with mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate transactions in the private company space. Nirupa also advises the management teams of both public and private companies on compensation and benefit arrangements, including the negotiation and drafting of executive employment agreements and the design, implementation, and administration of equity and cash compensation plans and award agreements.

Nirupa has comprehensive knowledge of identifying issues arising under, and assistance in compliance with, the Internal Revenue Code and ERISA. She also regularly advises corporations on their corporate governance obligations and assists clients in negotiating change-in-control arrangements, co-investment opportunities, separation arrangements involving significant amounts of equity, and other similar arrangements.

While in law school, Nirupa served as an Associate Editor on the Hofstra Law Review and gained valuable experience serving as the Managing Editor of Staff of the Moot Court Board and Vice President of the South Asian Law Students Association. She also spent time volunteering with the former Administrative Judge of the New York City Civil Court, to research and implement housing reform for low-income communities for Nassau County. In addition to her legal practice, Nirupa is committed to volunteer work globally and locally by maintaining an active role as a volunteer disaster relief aid for natural disasters and global pandemics.
