Dr. Patrick Mittmann

Patrick Mittmann is an experienced banking and finance lawyer. He advises banks and non-bank lenders as well as private equity firms, corporations and other institutional borrowers on all sorts of lending transactions and transfers of loan portfolios. Whether it is a real estate financing, a corporate loan, an acquisition financing, a commodity financing, a debt restructuring or a loan portfolio transfer, Patrick knows the techniques that will bring your deal across the line successfully. In particular, Patrick is an acknowledged authority in all kinds of real estate financing, e.g. portfolio financing, real estate share deals, development financing and hotel financing, including, in each case, the specific requirements of non-bank lenders such as debt funds and insurance companies.

Patrick is known for his understanding of the commercial drivers of a deal, a profound understanding of the legal issues at hand and a pragmatic approach, a combination which helps to achieve economic results without incurring unnecessary legal risks. Aside from working as a lawyer with three top tier law firms, Patrick was trained as an investment banker working with J.P. Morgan and worked as in-house legal counsel of a private equity firm in Frankfurt. He gathered international experience working for two years in the New York office of a major New York law firm.

Patrick Mittmann stands out for his '"wide coverage and deep knowledge of all the important topics, and his commercial pragmatism in negotiations".
