For 20 years, Olesya Barsukova-Bakar has advised and represented global emerging and mature private and public companies. Her skills span an array of corporate matters, no matter how complex, interdisciplinary, cross-border, highly regulated, or unique.

While Olesya has handled all aspects of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances and partnership transactions, venture capital transactions, recapitalizations, and restructurings, her main focus is on representation of sponsors and investors within the fund formation and private equity universe. She provides the right-sized advice for her clients to succeed – be it in a high-profile multi-billion dollar transaction or to first-time fund managers. Her experience advising both fund sponsors and investors provides her with the acute perspective of the market and its latest trends, knowledge of the sensitivities of the parties, and the ability to find win-win solutions for the clients, no matter which side of the equation they are on.

A key part of Olesya's role as a co-lead of Real Estate Funds is working with sponsors and investors in the real estate sector. She understands nuances of real estate investment structuring and helps clients through the complexities.

Olesya also represents issuers and investors in other private capital-raising activities, including private equity and debt financing, venture capital financing (including in early-stage companies), and joint venture and strategic alliance matters.

On the regulatory side, Olesya advises clients on aspects of compliance with the Investment Company Act, Investment Advisers Act, and Dodd-Frank Act.

Olesya's clients include global corporations, private investment fund sponsors, and international organizations. She advises clients operating in a variety of industries, including real estate, clean energy and technology, aviation and aerospace, life sciences, and agriculture, in all corners of the globe.
