Lam is a qualified lawyer and licensed IP attorney, working in our IPMT Group. She is client-focused, providing thorough and practical advices with an aim to meet clients' needs and expectations. Her practice covers all areas of intellectual property, including contentious and non-contentious matters relating to trade mark, copyright, patent and industrial design, and domain names. Before joining Hogan Lovells, Lam had more than 14 years working in a leading UK IP law firm where she focused on trade mark prosecution, disputes, portfolio management, and general strategic advice in Vietnam and other countries in the region. Lam has also advised on trade mark licensing and registration for circulation of pharmaceutical products in Vietnam.
Lam has represented numerous famous multi-national clients across a wide range of industry sectors, including, but is not limited to, pharmaceuticals, drinks and alcoholic beverages, tobacco, information technology. She has negotiated with third parties for Letters of Consents or Co-Existence Agreements for use and registration of clients' trade marks and handled numerous trade mark oppositions and cancellations. A specific successful trade mark opposition, which was mentioned in a Legal 500 Publication, includes the one on behalf of a world's leading luxury fashion French company where the client's unregistered well-known trade mark was based on. She also advised a UK media company on potential risks of trade mark infringement over a third party's prior mark by using its trade mark for a TV talent show broadcasted on the Vietnam national TV channel (VTV3) and suggested solutions.
