Hogan Lovells welcomes new Regional Managing Partner for Asia-Pacific

Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce that Lloyd Parker is the new Regional Managing Partner for Asia-Pacific effective 1 July 2020.

Lloyd assumes the role from Miguel Zaldivar who has relocated to the U.S. as the firm's new CEO. As Regional Managing Partner, Lloyd will be one of nine Partners who sit on our International Management Committee, which is the highest management level within Hogan Lovells. Lloyd is also Head of our Intellectual Property, Media and Technology Practice Group in Asia-Pacific, and Office Managing Partner, Tokyo.

Lloyd is committed to leading, and working with the Asia-Pacific region to deliver the firm's vision to be a bold and distinctive law firm creating valuable solutions for our clients around the world, particularly at the intersection of business and government.

Lloyd's strategy for our region, in addition to being aligned with our global strategy, will have a particular focus on putting clients at the center of everything that we do. To achieve this, our emphasis is on communicating and collaborating:

  • Communicating with our clients by actively listening to understand our clients' business and legal needs and seeking feedback on our performance and appropriately adjusting to achieve high levels of service.
  • Collaborating within Hogan Lovells to bring the whole of our firm (wide range of legal services, industry knowledge and geographical coverage) to our clients for their benefit.

Background on Lloyd Parker

Lloyd brings a range of experience and skills for the benefit of our region and clients, including Lloyd's: 

  • Connection with the region. Lloyd has lived in the Asia-Pacific region his entire life. Just over half of that time was primarily spent in Australia and since 2001 he has been based in our Tokyo office, from which he has traveled extensively in our region for both client work and management activities. Lloyd is fluent in Japanese; 
  • Range of legal experience over 30 plus years. Earlier in his career, Lloyd worked in a range of areas including: litigation, commercial/corporate, anti-trust and intellectual property. For the last 25 years he has focused on intellectual property and more specifically trademarks – global portfolio management and enforcement;
  • Understanding of our global capabilities. Through the global nature of his client work and various management roles, Lloyd has a deep knowledge of and connection to our global offices and the various services we can deliver to assist our clients; and 
  • Business experience. Lloyd studied business at universities in Australia and Japan. He also worked as a management consultant at one of the world's most famous management consulting companies. He has also gained extensive knowledge of a wide range of industries through client work. Consequently his approach to providing legal solutions is very commercially and practically orientated.
