The National Law Journal Names Craig Hoover a "Winning Litigator"

04 November 2015

WASHINGTON, 4 November 2015 – We are proud to announce that The National Law Journal has named Craig Hoover, head of Hogan Lovells’ Global Class Action Group, as a 2015 “Winning Litigator.”

The NLJ recognized Hoover and his team, Peter Bisio, Adam Levin, Erica Songer, and Elizabeth Jose, for prevailing in a class action trial on behalf of Anthem, Inc.

The trial victory arose out of a class action lawsuit that was filed in January 2002 by former employees and retirees of the State of Connecticut. The plaintiffs alleged that they, rather than their employer, the State of Connecticut, should have been recognized and compensated as Anthem’s mutual members in connection with Anthem's US$2 billion demutualization and IPO in 2001.

In June of 2015, following the trial, the Court issued a 90-page decision, finding for Anthem on the issues that were tried and entering final judgment for Anthem.
