Samaa Haridi appointed to the ICC International Court of Arbitration

New York, 21 June 2018 – Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce that partner Samaa A.F. Haridi has been appointed to the International Chamber of Commerce’s (ICC) International Court of Arbitration, one of the world's most experienced and renowned international arbitration institutions. Appointed by the ICC World Council on the proposal of the ICC Court’s President, she will serve a three-year term beginning July 1.

Haridi’s appointment to the International Court of Arbitration comes at a truly historic time for the ICC. For the first time in its history, the court has achieved gender parity among its membership with 88 women and 88 men representing 104 countries.

“I am delighted and honored to serve in this role, and I look forward to working with the other members of the ICC Court from around the globe,” said Haridi.

Founded in 1923, the International Court of Arbitration is the world’s leading arbitral institution. It administers arbitrations in accordance with the ICC Rules of Arbitration, and helps resolve difficulties in international commercial and business disputes to support trade and investment.

This appointment does not prevent Haridi from continuing her arbitration practice as counsel and arbitrator including in ICC arbitrations.
