Licensing Executives Society recognizes Hogan Lovells client Lightbridge for 2018 Deal of Distinction

Washington D.C., 15 October 2018 – The Licensing Executives Society (USA and Canada) recognized Enfission, LLC as the 2018 “Deal of Distinction” for the chemicals, energy, environment, and materials sector.

Enfission is a joint venture between Lightbridge Corporation (NASDAQ: LTBR), a nuclear fuel technology development company, and Framatome, a world leader in nuclear energy.

Lightbridge, now with Framatome through Enfission, is developing a next generation nuclear fuel that would enable nuclear power plants to produce 10-30% more power and extend refueling requirements, while being significantly more accident tolerant and proliferation resist ant than conventional fuels. It is a potentially “game-changing” technology for the nuclear power industry.

A team from Hogan Lovells represented Lightbridge in the creation of the Enfission joint venture. The Hogan Lovells team was led by Steve Miller, Senior Counsel based in our Washington D.C. office. The team included lawyers across offices and practice groups, including partners Amy Roma (energy), Jeffrey Whittle (U.S. IP), and David Crandall (corporate), and associates Polly Sims (U.S. IP), and Agathe Michel-de Cazotte (French IP). Commenting on the award, Seth Grae, CEO of Enfission, said:

“We are honored and gratified that LES has named Enfission as a Deal of Distinction. Producing more reliable, competitive, emission-free power from existing nuclear facilities, as well as new reactors, benefits nuclear plant operators and helps protect our planet against the effects of climate change.”
