Leslie Richards-Yellen Completes Term as President; Will Remain on National Association of Women Lawyers Board of Directors

After serving her term as President of the National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL), Hogan Lovells Director of Inclusion Americas Leslie Richards-Yellen has become NAWL’s Immediate Past President. She will remain on the NAWL’s 2017-2018 newly-elected Board of Directors and its Executive Committee. Richards-Yellen was the eighty-ninth president of the organization, which has worked to advance women in the legal profession and advocate for women under the law since 1899. Richards-Yellen has been a member of NAWL since 2008, previously serving in the capacities, including service as the Treasurer, as co-chair of the Program Committee, on the NAL Survey Meeting the Challenge Committee and on the Chair of the Supreme Court Committee.

“It was an honor to have had the opportunity to work with others to strengthen NAWL’s mission, ” Richards-Yellen said of her tenure as NAWL President. “Working with women united by the goal of achieving gender equality has been very meaningful.”

Of Richards-Yellen’s many accomplishments as NAWL President, her most important contribution was to make the organization more diverse from the Board to membership.
