India Business Law Journal "A-List"

Stephanie Keen and Soumitro Mukerji from Singapore listed in the International A-List of the India Business Law Journal.

Partner Stephanie Keen and Counsel Soumitro Mukerji from Hogan Lovells Lee & Lee in Singapore have been identified by India Business Law Journal (IBLJ) as one of the world’s top international lawyers for India-related matters – a member of the International A-List” of India specialists around the world. Both Stephanie and Soumitro lead the Hogan Lovells India Desk. Our India practice consists of lawyers across its global network of offices ranging from Northern California to the East Coast of Australia. We have a truly integrated global India practice. Our Singapore office is the firm's regional hub for India, Southeast Asia, and South Asia.

The “International A-List” identifies top international India experts and international lawyers for their work on India-related matters. Lawyers from Indian law firms and in-house counsel in India and around the world nominate and name international lawyers who they believe make the cut. Nominations were made by professionals at a wide range of Indian and global companies and Indian law firms.

Hogan Lovells has been recognised by the IBLJ as a leading international firm for our work in India over recent years.

Since acting for Walmart on its acquisition of a majority stake in Flipkart, one of India’s leading digital commerce entities, in 2018 at a valuation of US$20.9 billion, the team has had the opportunity to work on multiple matters for Walmart and Flipkart as they continue their growth and expansion in India. Most recently our Corporate & Finance team advised Flipkart on its US$1.2 billion fundraising, together with its US$700 million fundraising for PhonePe, a payments business.

Our other recent work includes advising Facebook on its US$5.7 billion investment for a 9.99% stake in Jio Platforms – this is reported to be the largest minority tech investment in history, and the largest foreign direct investment in the Indian tech sector; and Oaktree Capital Management on its financing for a subsidiary of Vedanta Resources.
