Hogan Lovells Wins EC1 Pride in Our People Awards for Community Work

London, 19 May 2010 - Hogan Lovells was presented with a 'Local Business of the Year' award on Wednesday from EC1 Pride in Our People for its work with the local community.

EC1 New Deal praised the firm's educational work with local schools including its recent Debate it! project with five local primary schools. The project sees Hogan Lovells' volunteers running debating sessions on topical issues and improving the pupils' confidence and communication skills. The project will culminate in an inter-school competition in June which all the pupils are looking forward to.

Hogan Lovells has developed a strategic relationship with St Luke's Community Trust to ensure their community work is sustainable and meaningful to the community. St Luke's Trust were also winners on the night, scooping the 'Local Team of the Year' award.

Other notable Hogan Lovells achievements included its assistance with the economic regeneration of Whitecross Street market. The firm provided pro bono support and business advice to the traders to assist with the regeneration of this area.
