London, Sydney, 13 November 2020 - The UK Government has appointed Hogan Lovells to provide regulatory and legal advice on the negotiations of the UK-Australia and UK-New Zealand free trade agreements.

Hogan Lovells will be advising the Department of International Trade (DIT) on the negotiation and implementation of the agreements. The agreements are a vital part of the Department’s efforts to enhance the UK’s trade negotiating ability post-Brexit, building on the success of the recent trade agreement with Japan.

The appointment is for three years and resulted from a competitive tender.

Aline Doussin, partner in the Global Regulatory practice and head of the UK trade practice at Hogan Lovells, commented: "Working at the intersection of business and government, we offer a unique approach to identifying emerging risks and opportunities. We look forward to using our unparalleled combination of industry, regulatory and legal knowledge to support the Department of International Trade in its negotiations with Australia and New Zealand."
