Hogan Lovells to Offer U.S. Secondment

23 May 2012

LONDON, 23 May 2012 - Hogan Lovells is to extend its London training contract offering with the introduction of a secondment to New York from August 2012. This new secondment opportunity reflects Hogan Lovells' global reach and will provide London trainees with an excellent opportunity to experience the trans-Atlantic work which has become an increasingly significant part of the firm's career offering.

All London trainee solicitors in the final year of their training contract will be invited to apply for the New York secondment, which complements Hogan Lovells' existing international secondment offerings in Brussels, Dubai, Hong Kong, Paris and Singapore.  Trainees can apply for secondments by submitting an application detailing which international opportunities they are interested in the reasons why they should be selected, based on their experience to date.  Feedback from previous supervisors and past appraisals is considered as part of the selection process.

Ben Higson and James Doyle, London graduate recruitment partners, said:

"This is a tremendous opportunity for our London trainees to experience at first hand international legal work from the US-perspective and to appreciate the breadth of Hogan Lovells' international offering. It is also, of course, an opportunity to live in one of the world's most exciting and dynamic cities".

New York partners Dennis Tracey and Mike Matheou added:

"With over 180 experienced lawyers resident in New York, this office provides a full range of litigation and transactional advice to Fortune 500 companies, multinational corporations, emerging businesses, and individual business leaders. This is a genuinely career enhancing opportunity for the trainees that join us, not only giving them a unique insight into our legal work, but also an opportunity to network with colleagues helping them to build important business relationships for the future."
