London, 8 February 2022 – Building on global law firm Hogan Lovells’ existing offering in Latin America, partner Akima Paul Lambert is spearheading an initiative to deepen the firm’s presence in the Caribbean. At a webinar that took place last week, the firm presented Hogan Lovells' Caribbean credentials alongside a virtual fireside chat on challenges and opportunities for the region.

The webinar featured two of the Caribbean’s leading legal change-makers and luminaries, Attorney General Dia Forrester (Grenada) and Attorney General Dawn Smith (BVI)  discussing a number of issues including: energy transition, financial services regulation, trade, dispute resolution, real estate and legislative reform.

Akima commented: “We are delighted to be strengthening our capabilities in the Caribbean. With the Caribbean’s increasing demand for legal services, our firm’s significant knowledge and understanding of the regions, the launch of a coordinated desk, staffed on a multi sectoral and cross-office basis, will enable us to further provide our clients with comprehensive legal and business advice. We look forward to modelling a culture of genuine collaboration, cooperation, and mutual investment.”

Hogan Lovells has a strong offering in Latin America and the Caribbean.

It has worked on a number of dispute resolution matters involving Caribbean countries and is currently working on two renewable energy mandates in relation to energy in the Caribbean.
