Hogan Lovells Shortlisted in Three Categories at the British Legal Awards

10 October 2013

LONDON, 10 OCTOBER 2013 - Hogan Lovells has been shortlisted in three categories for the Legal Week 2013 British Legal Awards.

The categories the firm has been shortlisted in are:

  • Litigation and Regulatory Team of the Year
  • Restructuring Team of the Year
  • Assistant/associate solicitor

Our nomination in the Litigation and Regulatory Team of the Year category is for the banking litigation team's work on the Patrick McKillen v Sir David Rowat Barclay and others case over the control of three of London's most prestigious hotels. Hogan Lovells acted for National Asset Loan Management Limited ("NAMA"), an Irish state body set up in the wake of the financial crisis to acquire Irish property loans from struggling banks and dispose of them for the best price possible.  NAMA was successful in defending a challenge made by Mr McKillen, the Barclay brothers and others for what Mr McKillen claimed was an invalid debt sale.

The firm has also been shortlisted in the Restructuring Team of the Year category for advising the Trustees of the Kodak Pension Plan (KPP) on an innovative pensions restructuring, saving the 15,000 members from the Pension Protection Fund (PPF).

Meanwhile, finance senior associate Camille Astier has been shortlisted for her work helping to establish Hogan Lovells' Africa practice.

The awards dinner will be held on 28 November 2013 in London.
