Hogan Lovells Shortlisted for The Lawyer's Pro Bono Team of the Year Award in London

25 May 2010

LONDON, 25 May 2010 - A team of highly dedicated legal professionals, including a number of London Hogan Lovells' partners, associates, trainees, and support staff have been nominated for Pro Bono Team of the Year. In the wake of a terrorist attack in Turkey, the pro bono team of then Lovells and a personal injury specialist from Field Fisher Waterhouse uncovered a gap in the compensation awarded to victims of terrorism: victims attacked on British soil were eligible for state help, however those injured abroad were overlooked. After five years of hard work and campaigning on the part of Hogan Lovells and the rest of the team, the government announced in the spring that it would ensure that a mechanism would be implemented to compensate British victims of terrorism abroad to help them return their lives to as normal a state as possible.
