Hogan Lovells Recognised for Gender Transparency and Global Diversity Plan

7 March 2014 - Hogan Lovells’ commitment to creating an inclusive workplace has been recognised by being shortlisted in the Transparency Award category at the Opportunity Now Excellence in Practice Awards 2014.

This marks the first year that organisations shortlisted for the Opportunity Now Awards also receive a Business in the Community Big Tick.

Opportunity Now is the workplace gender campaign from Business in the Community and the Opportunity Now Excellence in Practice Awards recognise public and private sector organisations that have put gender at the core of their business agendas and are committed to creating inclusive workplaces.

The Big Tick is awarded to organisations who demonstrate significant achievements in their responsible business programme to celebrate and profile their responsible business success. It is recognised as a leading endorsement of responsible business.

Hogan Lovells has a global diversity plan that includes a focus on the development, retention and advancement of women lawyers with an objective of increasing the number of women partners.

Ruth Grant, People Development partner and Co-Chair of Hogan Lovells Diversity Committee and Chair of the London Diversity Committee, commented:

"We are delighted to be shortlisted and receive the BitC Big Tick. Good Citizenship is one of Hogan Lovells' global business values and being a diverse and inclusive place to work is at the core of our vision. Hogan Lovells is committed to supporting the career progression of women in the workplace, progressing equality initiatives and encouraging and maintaining a diverse workforce; and being transparent about our diversity targets and activities plays a key part in demonstrating this commitment and in holding ourselves to account as part of our strategy to create and maintain an inclusive working environment for our people, reflected in this achievement"

Kathryn Nawrockyi, Director, Opportunity Now, said:

Congratulations to Hogan Lovells on being shortlisted for the Opportunity Now Excellence in Practice Awards 2014. The standard of entries this year once again raises the bar for future leadership on gender equality, and these employers should be proud of and celebrate their success at this stage. They are a great example of how working together can help to create real, sustainable change which benefits not just women in the workplace, but also organisational culture and society as a whole. I hope other employers will learn from this exemplary work. We’re also delighted to award Hogan Lovells a Business in the Community Big Tick in further recognition of their achievements.”

This year’s winners will be announced at the Opportunity Now Excellence in Practice Awards Gala Dinner, which takes place on Wednesday 2nd April 2014 in London as part of Business in the Community’s Responsible Business Week.
