The Big Tick award is part of the national Awards for Excellence, which recognise inspirational programmes that are making a positive impact on the community, the environment or wider society. Now in their 14th year, they are the UK’s leading awards for responsible business practice and celebrate companies who are delivering successful responsible business programmes at local, national and international levels.

Hogan Lovells was presented with the Big Tick award at a ceremony in London on 2 June.

Yasmin Waljee OBE, Hogan Lovells' International Pro Bono and Community Investment Manager, commented:

"We are delighted to receive this Big Tick. Good Citizenship is one of Hogan Lovells' global business values and through working within the EC1 community, one of the most deprived postcodes in the UK, we have directly contributed to the lives of over 500 children and older people over the past year,  and indirectly impacted on the lives of over 6,000 people."

Stephen Howard, Chief Executive, Business in the Community said:

“I congratulate Hogan Lovells on achieving their Big Tick. It is a challenging time for business, but this is a sign that companies are not losing their focus and are transforming their businesses to make a positive impact on people and society and are prepared to lead by example. That’s what Business in the Community’s Awards for Excellence are all about – celebrating responsible business, the leadership that makes it happen and the benefits to the business and society of doing so. Communities and consumers need to see that businesses are proactive, visible and engaged on the big issues of the day, as Hogan Lovells has demonstrated.”
