Washington, D.C., 14 September 2021 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce it has achieved Mansfield Rule 4.0 Certification Plus status for 2021, demonstrating the firm’s ability to deliver on its commitments to diversity and inclusion.
Established by Diversity Lab, the goal of the Mansfield Rule is to boost the representation of historically underrepresented lawyers in law firm leadership. Hogan Lovells was one of five pilot firms which volunteered to take on a more intensive tracking process in 2019 that is now in use more broadly across the Mansfield Rule platform.
Now in its fifth year, Mansfield has become the standard by which law firms track and measure whether they have affirmatively considered at least thirty percent women, racial/ethnic minorities, disabled, and LGBTQ+ lawyers for top leadership roles, senior-level lateral hiring, promotions into the equity partnership, and participation in client pitch meetings.
Carine Stoick, Americas Professional Development & Diversity Partner, said: “Mansfield Certification provides a necessary benchmark to ensure we have a robust pipeline of talented people from all backgrounds to consider for advancement and leadership. We are delighted to participate and once again exceeding the standards needed for advancing diversity and inclusion at our firm.”
Diversity & Inclusion Director for the Americas, Rosevelie Márquez Morales, added: “We are honored to receive further recognition of our commitment to foster a diverse and inclusive working environment. Participation in the Mansfield Certification process ensures we continue to make meaningful progress as a responsible business in supporting the careers of our underrepresented people, including at the highest ranks.”
The firm is also participating in Mansfield Certification 5.0 for 2021, while Diversity Lab is embarking on its first expansion outside of North America with the launch of the Mansfield Rule UK with more than 10 leading UK law firms including Hogan Lovells.
The firm has received Mansfield Certification Plus status each year since committing to the Mansfield Rule in 2018.
