Hogan Lovells Ranks in Top 10 of GCR 100 Global Elite

LONDON, 25 January 2011 - The Hogan Lovells Antitrust, Competition and Economic Regulation (ACER) practice has been included in Global Competition Review (GCR)'s top 10 competition practices in the world for 2011, released today.

GCR is the leading global competition law publication and the GCR Global Elite is the definitive list of the world's top firms for competition. The Global Elite assesses competition practices based on the size of a firm's competition practice; the number and location of nominees to the 2010 edition of The International Who's Who of Competition Lawyers; and the stability of the practice, measured by looking at lateral hires, partner departures and promotions throughout the year.

With 13 partners included in The International Who's Who of Competition Lawyers, the ACER practice is recognized for its "standout teams in Washington, D.C., London, and Brussels, as well as numerous other jurisdictions worldwide" following the success of the  combination between Hogan & Hartson and Lovells on 1 May 2010, which "propelled it up the rankings to number 10."

Susan Bright, London based co-head of the ACER practice, said:

"Achieving a top 10 ranking so quickly after combining to form Hogan Lovells is testament to the hard work and team spirit of the group and reflects the strength, breadth and fast-growing reputation of our combined global competition practice."

Janet McDavid, Washington, D.C. based co-head of the ACER practice, added:

"We are very pleased about Global Competition Review ranking our global practice amongst the top 10 worldwide. This is an excellent recognition of the step change we planned to achieve in joining forces."
