Hogan Lovells partners with Elevate to create new ‘flexible lawyering’ programme

Global law firm Hogan Lovells today launches a new flexible lawyering programme in the UK in partnership with law company Elevate. This initiative is the latest addition to Hogan Lovells Legal Services Delivery armoury – focused on responding to our clients' needs by delivering our services in a flexible, efficient and cost-effective manner.

This programme gives Hogan Lovells access to additional resources to complement its existing teams when faced with unexpected demands or surges in client need.

Commenting on the launch, Susan Bright, Regional Managing Partner, UK and Africa, Hogan Lovells, said: "Our partnership with Elevate provides us with access to a large pool of lawyers to complement our existing teams when it is necessary to staff up at short notice to respond to our clients' needs."

Elevate has a pool of skilled and experienced lawyers, including many of Hogan Lovell's alumni, whom it can draw on for particular projects or for client secondments where the firm does not have the capacity. All flexible lawyers will meet Hogan Lovells quality, compliance, conflict-of-interest and service delivery policies and requirements.

Susan Bright continued: "I am excited that this programme will provide additional options for our lawyers who want to continue practising in a more ad hoc and flexible way, including those who want to take time out, while maintaining their skills, with the potential of returning to the firm in the future. This programme is about providing even greater flexibility as a modern law firm and I see this being a major benefit for our clients and our people."

Flexible lawyering forms part of the range of legal service delivery options that Hogan Lovells brings to clients complementing our permanent legal teams supported by Legal Project Management; document automation and use of Artificial Intelligence; our Legal Delivery Centre in Birmingham; general LawTech and legal function consultancy.

Stephen Allen, Head of Legal Service Delivery, Hogan Lovells, commented: "Our flexible lawyering programme will be of particular importance when clients are dealing with major impact matters such as Brexit and GDPR, which requires a significant increase in the volume of legal support for short periods or at short notice. While the programme will benefit our lawyer management, the greatest value will be to our clients who will have a greater range of options in how we resource their projects at short notice, while retaining the Hogan Lovells assurance of quality.”

John Croft, President and Co-Founder of Elevate, added: “Hogan Lovells understands that clients are looking to buy legal services differently. They are looking for law firms to collaborate with law companies to provide the full suite of services they need. We are delighted that Hogan Lovells has chosen to partner with us again and we believe that this service puts the firm ahead of its competition. The Flexible Lawyering programme, powered by Elevate, will give Hogan Lovells the 21st century lawyering flexibility it and its clients need.”
