Hogan Lovells Partners Featured in The Lawyer's Hot 100 2011

10 January 2011

LONDON, 10 January 2011 - Hogan Lovells London finance partner, Stuart Brinkworth, and London corporate partner, Ben Higson, are featured in The Lawyer magazine's Hot 100 2011, which was published on 3 January.

The Hot 100 celebrates the very best in British legal talent and focuses on those individuals who have excelled in the previous 12 months and/or who are expected to be the stars of the future.

Stuart Brinkworth is the only leveraged finance partner included in the Hot 100 2011, with The Lawyer commenting: "While many banking partners in the City have shifted their focus on to restructuring Brinkworth has stayed with new money deals, and his efforts are bearing some fruit at Hogan Lovells. He is seen as the kind of hire that will drive his new firm's banking practice onto the next level. Instructions have already started to come from sponsors and financial advisers, as well as through his existing links to banks".

Ben Higson is described as a "rising corporate star" and "definitely one to watch", having advised on deals worth more than £2.5bn in 2010. His "instrumental" role in attracting corporate work from client Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation, work on organising the corporate, finance and regulatory partners retreat, and involvement in the graduate recruitment and associate training programmes are all cited as factors in his inclusion in the Hot 100. Most recently, he advised Citi Infrastructure Partners on its US$1bn investment in its Australian ports terminal business, which signed just before Christmas.

Stuart and Ben said:

"It is a great achievement to be included in the Hot 100 and to be recognised among the most talented lawyers in the UK legal profession."
