Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce that the International Bar Association (IBA) has appointed Partner Samaa Haridi as 2021-2022 Co-Chair of the Arbitration Committee during its Annual Meeting which was held virtually last week.

The IBA Arbitration Committee, which counts more than 3,000 members worldwide, has been a leading standard-setter for the practice of international arbitration globally, and promotes the use of international arbitration through its conferences, projects, and publications.
During the virtual town hall held on 12 November, the IBA's Arbitration Committee unveiled its proposed revisions to the rules on the taking of evidence, which were originally published in 1999 and revised in 2010. If approved by the IBA Council, the revised rules and commentary will be published later this year and will take effect in 2021.
