Hogan Lovells names partner Crispin Rapinet as new Training Principal

London, 22 January 2018 – Hogan Lovells announces that litigation partner Crispin Rapinet has agreed to become the new UK Training Principal. Rapinet’s new role began with effect from 1 January 2018.

Rapinet, the leader of Hogan Lovells’ global Investigations, White Collar, and Fraud practice, has taken over this role from David Moss who was Training Principal for the past four years and who retired at the end of 2017. Rapinet will work alongside Graduate Recruitment partners Louise Lamb and Jon Chertkow, overseeing legal training and helping to guide graduate trainees through their qualification as solicitors.

In addition, Edward Brown, a partner in the London Pensions practice, will take the lead on the firm's input into and implementation of the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), working closely with Rapinet and the rest of the graduate recruitment team. Brown is a member of the trainee recruitment interview panel and has supervised trainees. He trained with the firm and progressed to partnership, so has a wealth of experience that will prove invaluable in managing SQE implementation.

Commenting on Rapinet’s new role, Susan Bright, Hogan Lovells' Regional Managing Partner for the UK and Africa, said:

"I am grateful to Crispin for agreeing to take on this role in addition to running his own busy and highly-regarded practice. We work hard to attract, retain and advance the best graduates in a competitive market, and Crispin’s involvement as both an experienced lawyer and a passionate mentor will continue the success our graduate recruitment programme has enjoyed under David Moss’s leadership.

Rapinet added:

"I am excited about this challenge. It is a privilege to be asked to work with the talented and determined graduates we work so hard to recruit. The world has changed a great deal since I was a graduate trainee at the firm myself, but I hope that I can pass on my enthusiasm and encouragement, helping guide our young lawyers towards the fulfilling and exciting career I have enjoyed.”
