Hogan Lovells named "Most Inclusive Firm for Minority Lawyers" by Chambers and Partners

WASHINGTON, 20 June 2016 – Hogan Lovells is proud to announce that it took home the honor of "Most Inclusive Firm for Minority Lawyers (Private Practice)" in Chambers and Partners' inaugural Diversity Awards USA.

Specifically, Hogan Lovells was recognized by Chambers for its continued dedication to representing and promoting opportunities for minority lawyers. The firm has a number of network groups, initiatives, partnerships, and programs that promote and support minority groups including African-Americans, Hispanic/Latinos, Asian Pacific-Islanders, and LGBT/Pride.

Hogan Lovells' Global Diversity & Inclusion Committee, together with 10 regional diversity teams throughout the world, promotes participation by all in furthering the firm's diversity and culture of inclusion, building a diverse talent pipeline, engaging clients and stakeholders on diversity initiatives, and monitoring the progress of diversity objectives.

The firm regularly collaborates with various businesses, community organizations, and clients on joint diversity and inclusion-focused endeavors including internal and external workshops, recruiting and networking events, training programs, and professional-development opportunities. Some of their various partners include Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Asian American Justice Center, Hispanic National Bar Foundation, the Center for Legal Inclusiveness, The Williams Institute, and the Minority Corporate Counsel Association.

Hogan Lovells is also an active member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), an organization dedicated to creating a diverse legal profession, participating in several of its pipeline and minority professional-development programs. The firm will also be a member of Sponsors for Education Opportunity (SEO) later this year and participate in its law-student pipeline program.

The Chambers Diversity Awards USA presented in New York on June 16, celebrate the achievements of lawyers from non-traditional backgrounds and shine a spotlight on the firms, corporations and individuals affecting positive change in the profession. Hogan Lovells was nominated in four of the six firm-related categories – the most of any law firm – including:

  • Most Pioneering Firm for Female Lawyers;
  • Most Inclusive Firm for Minority Lawyers;
  • Most Inclusive Firm for LGBT Lawyers; and
  • Outstanding Firm for Furthering Diversity and Inclusion.
