Hogan Lovells London Advises London Metal Exchange on Delivering the LBMA Platinum Price and LBMA Palladium Price

04 December 2014

LONDON, 4 December 2014 - The London Metal Exchange (LME) is now the new home for the LBMA Platinum Price and LBMA Palladium Price.

Hogan Lovells’ corporate practice advised LME on the legal aspects of its arrangements for delivering the new platinum and palladium prices. LME is the world's premier metal derivatives trading venue, trading over 80 per cent of the world's non-ferrous metal futures and options contracts.

Hogan Lovells advised LME on preparing the benchmark regulations as well other matters relating to LMEbullion, the LME’s custom built, electronic price discovery platform.

The twice-daily auctions for platinum and palladium went live on 1 December 2014.

The Hogan Lovells team advising LME was led by London financial institutions partner Rachel Kent, senior associate Angela Greenough and IP/technology partner Mark Taylor.

Commenting on the project, Rachel said:

"This project builds on our existing work with the LME including around the launch of its clearing house, LME Clear, in September 2014."
