Hogan Lovells is Recognised as the Most Highly Rated Firm in the UK for Administrative and Public Law and Parliamentary and Public Affairs

London - Hogan Lovells' UK & EU Public Law and Policy team has been ranked as Band 1 by Chambers UK for both Administrative and Public Law and Parliamentary and Public Affairs, the only firm in the UK to have been given this distinction in both areas of law.

Paul Dacam, who leads the team, and Charles Brasted, of Counsel, were listed as leading individuals by the legal directory.  Work highlighted included the team's advice to NATS Ltd (air traffic control) on threatened litigation arising from the volcanic ash crisis, representation of BT Pension Scheme trustees on liability issues and advising British American Tobacco (BAT) and others in challenges to the planned tobacco display ban.

Charles Brasted said: "This confirms that Hogan Lovells is uniquely well-placed to offer a comprehensive public law and policy service to clients in heavily regulated industries. The Chambers rankings are testament to our dedicated team's holistic approach to helping clients to shape, and where necessary litigate, the decisions of government departments, regulators and other public bodies, and to our unique strength in breadth in this area."

Charles Brasted recently worked with the Libyan National Transitional Council to secure the release of £1bn-worth of Libyan Dinar banknotes frozen in the UK under the anti-Gaddafi UN sanctions, providing a crucial cash injection into the Libyan economy at a highly sensitive time.
