Hogan Lovells Hires Public Procurement Specialist Kate Rees in London

LONDON, 10 OCTOBER 2011 - Hogan Lovells has expanded its public procurement team with the hire of leading public procurement lawyer, Kate Rees.  Kate, who was previously a partner at Pinsent Masons, joins Hogan Lovells today, Monday 10 October, as a consultant.

Kate, who established and for many years headed up the Pinsent Mason practice, has more than 20 years’ experience of public and utilities procurement, gained in the UK and Brussels and is ranked by Chambers Directory as one of the four leading procurement lawyers in the UK. 

Kate will be working closely with Ciara Kennedy-Loest in Brussels.  Ciara is head of the firm's pan-European public procurement practice and was voted Global Public Procurement Lawyer of the Year 2010 by the International Who's Who of Business Lawyers. Ciara, together with litigation partner Rupert Sydenham, is leading the Hogan Lovells team representing Alstom in the £600m dispute with Eurostar over the award of the contract for the new Channel Tunnel rolling stock to Siemens.
