30 June 2015
WASHINGTON, D.C., 30 JUNE 2015 – Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce that The National Law Journal has selected the firm's General Civil Litigation department as the top finisher of its category in the annual Washington Litigation Departments of the Year awards.
The special report ranks Washington, D.C.-based litigation practices on each team's notable wins, operations, headcounts, and revenues. In awarding Hogan Lovells this honor, the publication highlighted the practices' effective cross-team approach to fighting – and winning – cases from a variety of disciplines.
Notable wins from the past year include the defeat of former nursing home residents and a federal bankruptcy trustee attempting to collect US$2.3 billion in judgments against client General Electric Capital Corp; the defeat of a nationwide class seeking huge damages for client Anthem Inc. and the defense of Affinia Group Inc.'s US$150 million sale of its chassis division.
The National Law Journal also named Hogan Lovells a Litigation Department of the Year finalist in 2013 and 2014.
