Shanghai, 11 October 2021 – We are proud and delighted to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Hogan Lovells Fidelity, the association we entered into with Fujian Fidelity Law Firm in 2016.
We remain one of the small number of international law firms approved to form a joint venture in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone with a Chinese law firm. With Hogan Lovells Fidelity, we have significantly broadened our client offering in China, especially in the areas of intellectual property litigation, dispute resolution, securities, antitrust, regulatory compliance, restructuring and insolvency. Our successes include shaping the legal landscape as a result of precedent-setting court decisions before the Supreme People’s Court and local courts; a crack-down on a criminal gang who copied and manufactured a large volume of LEGO® products, successfully defending business-critical litigation for a leading global insurance brokerage, and advising on a number of market-leading deals in the technology, life sciences and consumer sectors.
Fujian Fidelity Law Firm is a multi-award-winning PRC law firm and a leading legal services provider in the areas of M&A, insolvency and liquidation, real estate and construction, securities, intellectual property, foreign investment, litigation and arbitration. Headquartered in Xiamen, it was established in 1989 and has grown to over 300 licensed PRC lawyers working across 13 branches.
Lloyd Parker, Asia-Pacific Regional Managing Partner, said:
"When we joined forces with our friends at Fujian Fidelity Law Firm, we knew this was an important part of our growth strategy in Greater China. Reaching this milestone demonstrates the commercial success of Hogan Lovells Fidelity and its value to our clients. Our international clients particularly benefit from our association’s ability to advise on Chinese law matters. What we have achieved in the past five years is amazing and we are grateful for the trust and support we have received from the clients, the government, colleagues and our partner."
Wang Ping, Managing Partner at Fidelity's Shanghai FTZ office said:
"The cooperation between Fujian Fidelity and the world-renowned firm Hogan Lovells is definitely a success. With the association, we are able to provide globally integrated services for domestic enterprises. Reflecting on the past five years, we have seen significant business achievements in intellectual property, cross-border investment and other fields. We also handled many cases with industry-wide impact. In the future, we will keep working together to create value for our clients in certain fields including cross-border insolvency and global compliance. We are absolutely confident in the outlook for the association."
